Airtel Africa Plc has announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jaideep Paul, will retire following the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for July 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the company and submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
Paul, 63, will transition to a new role within the broader Bharti Group after his departure.
He will be succeeded by Kamal Dua, the current Deputy CFO, who will assume the role of Executive Director and CFO upon formal appointment at the AGM.
The statement from Airtel Africa highlighted Paul’s contributions and the seamless transition plan in place. It read:
“Airtel Africa Plc, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services across 14 African countries, announces that Jaideep
Paul, Chief Financial Officer, has informed the Board of his decision to retire as Executive Director and CFO effective at the conclusion of the July 2025 AGM.
“Jaideep will be leaving the company to pursue a new position within the wider Bharti Group. He will ensure a smooth transition to Kamal Dua, currently Deputy CFO, who will take over as Executive Director and CFO following his appointment at the AGM.
The Board expresses its profound gratitude to Jaideep for his dedication and significant contributions during his tenure and wishes him every success in his future endeavors.”
Chair of the Board, Sunil Bharti Mittal commended Paul for his exceptional service to the company. He stated:
“In his time at Airtel, both at Airtel Africa and previously at Airtel Nigeria and Bharti Airtel Group, Jaideep has been instrumental in driving strategic transformation and delivering results through disciplined execution.
He has brought focus and rigor to the finance function and has been an inspirational colleague. On behalf of the Board, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Jaideep and wish him the very best for the future. I am also pleased that we have identified a strong successor in Kamal Dua and look forward to working with him as Airtel Africa continues to grow and evolve.”
